Our Technical Interns, Jake and Alice, give their impressions of The Flavourworks.

Alice and Jake

My name is Alice and I’m an assistant raw flavour specifier intern/assistant raw materials technologist intern within the technical team. My hobbies include ballet, reading, cooking and baking. I’m currently a student at Cardiff Metropolitan University studying Food Science and Technology. I’m doing a work placement year with The Flavourworks as part of my degree. My first impression of The Flavourworks was that it was a vibrant and interesting place to work. I’m looking forward to learning more about the food industry and The Flavourworks over the next 12 months.

Jake: I am a 20 year old guy on placement in technical as part of my degree in food science at technology, from Cardiff Metropolitan University. I come from near Shepton Mallet so this is quite close to home for me. Outside of work I am a black belt at judo and fight competitively, this is how I pass a large amount of my time. I decided to come here as it’s not too far from home and there is a lot of experience to offer. The team came across as a friendly group of people to work with and as I have found out over these last two weeks of being here, they are. There has been a bubbly atmosphere and a relaxed yet professional work ethic creating the ideal work environment that has led me to look forward to the future working here.
