Foodies in Lockdown
Our Head Development Chef Ellie has put together a list of companies offering foodie treats during lockdown.
Dove’s Farm – If you’ve jumped on the bread making wagon, they offer a really good value box of different flours for £11 www.dovesfarm.co.uk/products/organic-flour-box They also have a gluten-free food box intended strictly for people on gluten-free diets.
Belazu – They offer Mediterranean and Middle Eastern ingredients; pastes, pestos, grains, rice, nuts, snacks etc. Can highly recommend the tahini if you fancy making your own houmous, it will last you ages and their balsamic vinegars and preserved lemons are also some of the best: www.belazu.com/shop
Olives Et Al – They’ve opened up a ‘Deli to Door’ service and broadened their range and seem to be adding to it constantly. Worth checking their delivery zone first. www.loafandlarder.com
Odysea – Offering Greek and Mediterranean food, cheese, olives, pasta, antipasti etc. www.odysea.com/products
Nectar Imports – If you want to bulk buy some alcohol (I’m not encouraging this, just a suggestion…), check them out as they now offer a click and collect service and are 20 minutes up the A303 …
Neal’s Yard Dairy – Like many things, British cheese is going to really struggle to get through this. NYD have set up a ‘Save The British Cheese’ selection to support them, currently out of stock but if you’re a cheese lover this would be an amazing treat. www.nealsyarddairy.co.uk/collections/cheese-selections
Mindful Chef – Still accepting new customers (unlike Gousto and Hello Fresh) but they also offer frozen ready meals, smoothies etc. If you know an NHS worker, they are also offering 30% off too. shop.mindfulchef.com
